Netflix users are urged to be extra cautious when responding to emails, officials say. A new scam is targeting subscribers to gain access to their personal information.
This scam, like others, will send you an email that looks completely genuine. The email will ask you to update your membership details, payment information included, and link you to a fake log-in page. Once the Cyber Criminals have this information they are free to access your financial accounts & personal information.
Once the information is submitted to the fraudulent site, they are redirected to the real Netflix page – making it seem legitimate.
The video streaming company said that Netflix will never ask for personal information in an email – including payment information, Social \Security number, or account password.
