Level 2 IT Engineer

Due to company growth and expansion. Radius are now seeking an experienced Level 2 IT Engineer. This role will support Radius clients across the country.

This full-time role will report to the Technical Services Manager and will be based on-site in Radius’ Waterford office.  Support to customers will be provided remotely, so previous experience in a similar environment is key for the successful candidate.



  • Provide excellent customer service to our client’s
  • Log, track and resolve issues in line with SLA’s
  • Hands on troubleshooting resolving a wide range of technical issues relating to Microsoft Windows Servers (2008 / 2012 and upwards), Desktops, MAC systems, mobile phones, tablets, Printers, Network Software, NAS etc.)
  • Troubleshooting Office 365 issues
  • Diagnose and resolve Network related technical problems within Local Area & Wide area Network (WAN) environments
  • Experience working and troubleshooting in a Hyper-V environment
  • Expert knowledge on Group Policy & DNS
  • AV solutions – installation and troubleshooting
  • Backup Solutions – experience particularly with Ashay, Unitrends, Backup Assist
  • Manage / liaise with third party suppliers
  • Ability to learn quickly on the job
  • Represent the company in a positive and professional manner at all times
  • Remain at the forefront of emerging technologies and industry best practice

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Min Level MCSA, BA or BSc degree will be preference.
  • 3 – 4 years of current IT support experience
  • Strong technical background working in a similar environment
  • Excellent technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently
  • A strong customer-focused communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Candidates must have excellent organisational skills
  • Candidates must also be proactive, self-motivated and capable of working without close supervision in a busy team based environment.

Job Title:   Help Desk  – Dispatcher
Department:   Technical Services Team
Reports to:   Helpdesk Team Leader
Location:   Waterford (South east)

Job Purpose: Single point of contact for telephone support for Radius customers

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Provide the single point of telephone support for Radius customers
  • Process IT requests as they arrive through email or via the customer portal
  • Do initial troubleshooting with customer to fully understand their issue
  • Fully document the customers issue and enter details into Radius IT Service Management tool – ConnectWise
  • Prioritise the issue and assign to the correct level of Radius IT support
  • Escalate to Radius IT Manager as required
  • Communication with customers as required: keeping them informed on the incident or service request
  • Schedule proactive maintenance calls with customers


  • Experience in a similar fast paced work environment
  • Basic computer and operating system knowledge
  • Familiarity with Microsoft office suite of tools
  • Strong Interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills to work with customers over the phone
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly
  • Technical awareness: ability to match resources to technical issues appropriately
  • Service awareness of all organization’s key IT services for which support is being provided
  • Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services

Job Title:   Help Desk  – Level 1 
Department:   Technical Services Team
Reports to:   Helpdesk Team Leader
Location:   Waterford (South east)

Provide first level telephone technical support to Radius customers.


  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or via email
  • Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions
  • Walk the customer through the problem-solving process
  • Provide the customer with the best solution based on the issue and details provided
  • Record all troubleshooting and the resolution in the Radius IT Service Management Tool – ConnectWise
  • Follow-up and update customer on the status of their issue
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel in line with operating level agreements
  • Provide accurate information on IT products or services
  • Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team
  • Identify and suggest possible improvements on procedures


  • Experience in a similar role

  • Strong customer service ethic
  • Ability to multitask and work in a very fast paced and every changing organisation
  • Tech savvy with a knowledge of Microsoft products (including Office 365), backup software, basic networking principles, active directory, printers etc.
  • Familiarity with the use of remote control tools to troubshoot customer issues
  • Good understanding of PC’s, Laptops, mobile devices, tablets etc.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
  • Proficiency in English
  • Microsoft/Comptia qualification and or Diploma/Degree in IT

Location: Waterford (South east)

Qualifications/ Experience Required:

  • Min. 4 years Microsoft networking experience
  • Excellent PC / server hardware troubleshooting ability
  • Strong customer service skills, relevant 3rd level technical qualification
  • Microsoft and CISCO networking qualifications an advantage
  • Troubleshooting skills with Office 365
  • Server 2008 / 2012 and 2016 support experience
  • Routers / Wi-Fi access points and printer in SME space an advantage.

Full driving license required, company Vehicle provided.

Job Title: Senior Engineer, Level 3 ticket escalations

Qualifications/ Experience Required:

  • Detailed understanding and troubleshooting virtual server environments server 2012 / 2016 (Hyper V)
  • Firewalls support experience
  • Exchange and office 365 and
  • LAN / WAN IP routing design and support
  • 3rd level degree qualification with MCSE
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant technical experience.
